Advance information

Here is some general information for our ski school courses. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us via email hiihdonopetus (at) talmaski.fi or via phone 040 1281419.

Dress children with warm clothes, according to the weather. Some winter months might have quite freezing temperatures. We recommend layering the clothes and having gloves that fit extra woolly gloves inside. Please do not have woolly socks in the ski boots though.

We wish that the payments are made in advance via the webshop. This way we will avoid crowds and ques inside. If payment is not made in advance, please come by the ski school office on the first day of the course to make payment. Payment on site with cash, debit/credit card (Visa/Mastercard), gift cards and excercise benefits (ePassi, Smartum, Edenred, Tyky seteli)

If you are renting equipment, please arrive 0,5 hours before the course time to the rental shop, with the participating child. Rental shop opens 0,5h before slopes.  This ensures that children are in time for the course with their equipment ready. Children and guardians gather at the course sign, situated outside the rental shop on the slope side.

Check the child’s height, weight and shoe size before hand, since they will be asked at the rentals. This way they will get the right size equipment and the adjustments are made correctly. Equipment set price is 16 euro for course participants per course day (2 hours). If the guardian/-s want to rent equipment for the duration of the course day, the price is same 16 euro for them too. Let us know at the rental shop that your child is on a course, to get the discounted price. Please note, this does not aplply to private lesson, pricing according to the normal price list.

ARRIVE 30 minutes before course start time

START TIME on the hour on top of the training slope

BREAK after 50 minutes, duration 10 minutes. Course continues again on the hour, at the same place (Werneri esikoulu and Lautanaperot break is after 45min).

END TIME 10min to. Children will be brought to the starting point

If the course has been paid in advance, you do not need to register at the ski school on the course day. All children get a name sticker for their helmet. Sticker can be picked up either from the rental shop or at the ski school. Rental helmets get a new sticker each course time.

Each course day will beging at the same time, by the course sign. Teacher will give out vests to the participants and introduce themselves. Teacher will give a short description of the goals for the course day.

Each course day has a short break, see timetables above. At the start of the break, children will be brought to the course sign. If you want to purchase f.ex. a hot drink for your child, please do that well in advance before the break time. The break is short and on the hour, all need to be back at the course sign.

Children will be brought back at the starting place at the end of the course day. Communication Teachers will answer to any questions and queries about the courses. At the end of each children”s course, there will be a graduation and diplomas will be handed out.

Absences (f.ex. being sick) replacements will be agreed separately at the ski school office. Absences will be replace on the same course day later on during the same season.

We will send a feedback form after the course via email. We hope that everyone answers the questionnaire. We are always eager to develop the courses further and your feedback is crucial in this.
